I didn't expect to have a lot of problems cutting dairy, especially right at first. I stayed at a friend's house last night, had a faaaabulous dinner of rosemary parmesan risotto with seared sea scallops, followed by two farewell Lindor truffles. Today, we went out for lunch to a diner and I found myself looking at a menu of cheese-covered items. My normal diner order usually involves breakfast food--I have a weakness for pancakes--but something about the word "buttermilk" makes me think they might contain some dairy. I'll probably make pancakes at least once this month, but I'll be at home with my coconut milk/oil. For lunch today, I ended up with salad, shrimp and french fries. Tasty enough, but not what I would normally order.
I keep having to remind myself that I'm doing this. I guess it will be more natural after a few days, but for now I keep forgetting, like this evening when I accepted another chocolate truffle and then remembered. Oops.
We managed to eat all the ice cream, but I still have a wedge of brie and a block of cheddar in the fridge. If John doesn't eat it before he flies back to TX on Monday, I guess I'll see if anyone wants some cheese.
My sinuses are magically clear this evening. Head still feels a little heavy, but I did eat a big pile of fried stuff today and not much else.
